Hydroponics efficiency I've read a year old guide and bounced around a few other older discussions but, none of them really addressed what you need to make your hydroponics effective and efficient. I know your farmer's skill level plays a factor in the harvests, as with any other crop.

Hydroponics are farming buildings which can be constructed after farming tech research in tech level 5. Initial research into Hydroponics concepts costs an AI Core and research into crop-specific hydroponics require Ancient Science Books. These buildings do not rely on environment for crop yields, allowing them to be constructed in all zones as well as indoors. Hydroponic buildings can grow ...

As a business model, modular farming also enables a much more efficient growth process, where transferring and packaging plants can be completed without causing any disturbance to other crops. Finally, with the help of soil-less growing, this modular design allows growth space to be in constant use.

Hydroponics and aeroponics accelerate this process by providing nutrients directly to the roots. Hydroponics has the downside that oxygen levels have to be managed over time. Standing water, depleted oxygen, pH levels, and nutrients can trigger algae growth and fungal problems in hydroponics. This requires steady attention.

Hydroponics users prefer the method because it is less likely to attract pests. It is a good option for growers with experience because they get the opportunity to control nutrient intake. You can use your knowledge to generate a harvest with a higher yield.

How often do you change water for hydroponics? A general rule of thumb is that hydroponic water should be changed out every two to three weeks. Depending on your system you may change it more or less often to maintain optimal pH and nutrient levels.

You may need 1-2 flooding in the night if you have a longer dark period and in summers. Do not hold your flood cycle duration for longer than 10 minutes.
The recommended amount of 3% solution of peroxide per gallon of water in hydroponics is around 3ml per liter or 2-3 teaspoons per gallon of reservoir water. Please note that we are talking about the diluted solution, NOT the 35% concentrated peroxide. Just to be safe, when you start the dosage, add a little less than the quantity mentioned above.
As a general guide, if you are remixing your nutrients between 7 and 10 days, then just topping off your reservoir with plain water will be sufficient. However, you will need to check daily because the strength of your nutrient will change as plants take up water.

Hydroponics is a type of horticulture and a subset of hydroculture which involves growing plants (usually crops) without soil , by using mineral nutrient solutions in an aqueous solvent.
Less water: Hydroponic systems use less water — as much as 10 times less water — than traditional field crop watering methods because water in a hydroponic system is captured and reused, rather than allowed to run off and drain to the environment. Locally grown: Indoor hydroponic systems allow plants to grow almost anywhere all year round.
